The Finder catalog dedicated to OPTA is further expanded with the launch of OPTA Codesys®, a product of the 8A Series based on the world’s first independent development environment for PLCs, designed for programming according to the international industrial standard IEC 61131-3.
Compliance with this international standard makes Codesys® (Controlled Development System) a software development environment widely used in the industrial automation sector, as it can be used on a wide range of PLCs, offering tools for simulation, hardware configuration, visualization, and project management in addition to programming.
The implementation of this environment makes OPTA a programmable device with languages such as IL, ST, LD, FBD, SFC, resulting in a PLR with a high level of interoperability and, in fact, unique in the market.
The new OPTA Type 8A.04-832C – presented for the first time in Nuremberg during the latest edition of SPS – is equipped with 8 analog or digital inputs, 4 10A relay outputs, USB Type-C connectivity, an RJ45 port for Ethernet or MODBUS TCP/IP connections, an RS485 port for serial and MODBUS RTU connections, a programmable USER button, and an internal Wi-Fi module.
OPTA Codesys can also be equipped with a switching power supply (Type 78.12.1.230.2482 in the 12 W version or Type 78.25.1.230.2482 in the 25 W version), designed for the correct operation of OPTA with load activation, avoiding processing or operating interruption problems.
The range will also soon include three expansion modules specifically dedicated to the Codesys® environment, which will be available during 2025.
This new version will complement the three existing models created in collaboration with Arduino PRO:
